Free Pre-K 3 & 4
Pre-K 3 and Pre-K 4 is completely free to all 3 and 4 year olds of TISD employees at our W. H. Burnett Early Childhood Center with the option to enroll their students in either full-day or half-day programs.

1-2-3% Retirement Matching
Terrell ISD offers a 1-2-3% matching plan to help prepare staff for financial stability at retirement. TISD will match either 1, 2, or 3 percent of an employee's retirement contributions. Matching percentage varies based on years of service in the District.

ExCEL Fitness Membership
All Terrell ISD employees and their spouses enjoy free access to the ExCEL Fitness Center, which is equipped with state-of-the art exercise equipment and an indoor walking track. Staff also can take advantage of free fitness classes taught by a personal trainer.

Teacher-Friendly Calendar
Terrell ISD's District calendar allows for a full week fall break in addition to Thanksgiving, Winter, and Spring break. Teacher work days are prioritized following long breaks, allowing for adequate classroom prep time.

Additional Teaching Stipends
Terrell ISD offers the following stipends for instructors:
$5,000 - Elementary Bilingual
$5,000 - Secondary Spanish
$3,000 - Secondary Math and Science (THS)
$3,000 - Secondary Math and Science (FMS)
$1,000 - Associate Degree
$2,000 - Master's Degree
$3,000 - Doctorate Degree

SUBSTITUTE TEACHING
In Terrell ISD we believe our substitute employees are equally as valuable as our full-time staff, and we consider our subs part of the TISD family. We strive to recruit and retain subs who have a heart for students. In addition to substitute teachers, we also hire substitutes for student nutrition staff, classroom instructional assistants, and our nursing staff.
ESS Partnership:
Starting on July 1, 2022, Terrell ISD Substitutes has partnered with ESS to employ and manage our substitute teacher program. This partnership allows us to offer all of the benefits to subs that we offer to full-time employees. These Benefits include:
