Jamie Foxx Performing Arts Center
The Terrell ISD Jamie Foxx Performing Arts Center opened in 2003. Hailed as one of the premier performance venues in Texas, this facility hosts approximately 65 school events and 25 rental events each year. This includes virtually all TISD school music and drama events and a wide range of professional concerts featuring performers from all over the globe.
Construction funding was provided as a result of the December 2000 Terrell ISD Bond Election. The Jamie Foxx PAC stands as a testament to the importance and support for Fine Arts in Terrell as local voters approved funding for the $7.5 million facility as a stand-alone proposition with 62% of the vote.
In addition to TISD events, the Jamie Foxx PAC is also home to the E! Terrell Entertainment Series and Lake Country Gospel Jubilee Productions. Notably, E! Terrell provides interactive student enrichment performances for all TISD students every year. Students have experienced Russian Ballet, Symphony Orchestras, Irish Step Dancers, Acrobats from China, Broadway Stage Shows, PBS Opera and Classical Pianists, and many other concert events focused on expanding cultural horizons for our young people.
Theater Productions students at Terrell High School operate sound and lights for all events at the Jamie Foxx PAC, including the professional shows. This affords our students opportunities for invaluable hands-on experience and interaction with professional performers and technicians. Our students have won college scholarships based on the skills they learned at this facility, and a number of Terrell High School graduates are working professional theater technicians in the world of entertainment
The Jamie Foxx PAC has 1,534 permanent seats, backstage dressing rooms and make up areas accommodating 80 cast members, an orchestra pit seating 70 musicians, 6 remote stages, and parking for 550 cars. The spacious foyer can accommodate up to 50 display tables and a wide variety of exhibition and showcase events.
The Jamie Foxx Performing Arts Center is sometimes available on a contract basis for rental events depending on school district schedules and other factors.
