JULY

Terrell High School senior Lauren Rogers receives State of Texas Future Farmers of America Lone Star Degree. Rogers is one of only six students from Terrell ISD to receive the honor since the FFA Chapter began in 1928. 

Nykole Warrell earns.a place in the Future Farmers of America Texas state choir.  Warrell is one of only thirty recipients in the state of Texas selected for this honor. 

AUGUST

For the first time in the district’s history, Terrell ISD enrolls more than 5,000 students with enrollment continuing to climb to more 5,200 students within the first month of school. 

Twenty Terrell ISD students ranging in age from elementary to high school represent the district at the Junior Olympics in North Carolina with the local track program, Terrell Prime. The program is led by Terrell High School alumni and recent Terrell Tiger Athletic Hall of Fame Inductee Jammal McCullar.

SEPTEMBER

Terrell ISD earns the 2022 Empowered District Seal which honors school districts that are committed to educating the whole child. Awarded by EVERFI K-12, the seal is awarded to only 10% of districts nationwide.

OCTOBER

Terrell ISD inducts ten former Tiger athletes into the Terrell ISD Athletic Hall of Fame: Jimmy Brewster, Bervin Brown, Tarren Dabney, Chad Jobe, Jarrod McCullar, DaVeida Pierson, Richard Ryan, Antwian Thomas, Shawana Watkins, and Monty Westbrook.

Terrell ISD inducts three former students into the Terrell ISD Hall of Honor: the Honorable Shelton Gibbs, the Honorable Lance Gooden, and Dr. Beverly Burr.

The district marks the 150th Birthday of William Henry Burnett, whom our Early Childhood Center is named after with a weeklong celebration and concludes the week with a parade in his honor.

Global Leadership Academy fifth graders, Natalie and Annabella write and publish the school's new song.

NOVEMBER

Terrell High School art student, Evelyn Aviles, is selected to have the Christmas ornament she designed placed on the Texas State Capitol Christmas Tree.

The Terrell Tiger football team advances to the playoffs for the first time since 2016.

The Terrell Tigers beat the Texas High Tigers in an overtime score of 28-21, claiming the bi-district championship.

Terrell High School sophomore Michael Snead is named to the TMEA Region 3 Honor Choir, becoming the first Terrell ISD student to earn this honor.

Head football coach Marvin Sedberry, Jr. is honored with the "Dave Campbell’s Coach of the Week" award for Week 12 in the Class 5A division.

Terrell High School senior, Molly Knapp, places fourth out of 42 debaters and is selected to advances tto the UIL Congressional State Tournament in January. Molly placed 4th out of 42 debaters in the competition. Terrell High School senior, Madison Bolluyt, places in the top twelve.
